Former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul speaks with MSNBC host Rachel Maddow on the future of the GOP, and whether that future will involve people like him.
Though I don’t always like his politics, I like Congressman Dennis Kucinich. Frankly, I gotta love anyone who’s willing to file articles of impeachment against Dick Cheney. Out of the Democrat Presidential Candidates, Kucinich had been my favorite; but, unfortunately the media gave him about as much attention as they gave Dr. Paul.
During Fox Happy Hour, Dennis answers a myriad of questions about the TARP bailout, the impending sweep by the Democrats in Congress and Nancy Pelosi’s strange insistence that a heavily Democrat Congress will actually be “more bi-partisan.”
Barney Frank claims that Democrats wanted to “regulate the subprime” situation before it got out of control. While in fact it was one of the few instances where Democrats actually favored less regulation (for the GSEs where most suprimes derived from), while Republicans favored greater regulation over the sector. Frank spreads lies on the television. Wow, thats a first.
I’m am not sure how the public will perceive this ad - will it be McCain is a racist who wants to keep African-Americans from voting? Or Republicans are evil? Well viewers can make their own decision.
John McCain decries Obama supporting repealing Bush’s cuts in the top margin tax rates, calling it “socialism”, yet when he was more truly “straight talking” back in 2000 his position was quite different.
Ron Paul, while not directly advocating for the death penalty for Federal Reserve bankers, does use that legislative stance from the 1792 Coinage Act to show how far away from our founding ideals we have strayed.
According to Al Jazeera, North Carolina could possibly be headed into the blue column. I think the conservative voter they interview in this video is a microcosm of the average American conservative who is unenthused by the characters popping out of today’s Republican Party.
Orlando ABC Affiliate news anchor, Barbara West, brings awkwardness to a whole new level in her recent interview with Democratic Vice President Nominee, Joe Biden. Besides questioning him about Obama’s association with ACORN and recent “spreading the wealth” comments to Joe the Plumber, Ms. West even goes so far as to compare Obama’s policies to Marxism.
Putting it at a level that most Americans can relate to (recurring monthly charges), this clever video brings up an interesting point. Would this war still be going (or have ever started for that matter) if families had to write a monthly check to cover the expenses? For that matter, what other “government services” would be quickly put to an end if voters paid for them directly instead instead of with money subtracted from their paychecks before ever reaching their checking account?
Socialism used to be an ugly word- or at least an ugly concept- in America, but no more. With both mainstream candidates embracing the philosophy, it’s become clearer than ever that it’s time for a major over-haul in the beltway.
