School House Rock: Preamble to The Constitution

Another great video by School House Rock. I’ve played it a few times around here and my kids are already singing snatches of it, so it sounds like this is a great way to memorize the preamble, if you’re so inclined.
I’m still trying to figure out how “promote the general welfare” has turned into “provide nationlized healthcare”.

You are going to go there aren’t you.
According to reliable statistics, more babies die in the U.S. every year than in, France, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Taiwan, Cuba and South Korea.
When one considers that these countries all have national health care systems and we don’t, it starts to become obvious. More dead babies does not equal promoting the general welfare.
Now I have one for you. How does a nationalized postal service promote the general welfare? Can’t that be done through private institutions?
