Robert Reich’s Views on Stimulus

Robert Reich, former Labor Secretary under President Clinton, testified before the House Ways and Means Committee to discuss economic stimulus. Reich urged the committee to consider projects with “high social returns” which would not just benefit “white male construction workers.”

Wow.

White male construction workers? He’s obviously not from Texas.

I understand what he is saying in his defense, and, to a degree, I agree with him. Limbaugh, Hannity et al certainly took the words out of context. That said, he is still calling for an affirmative action type process in doling out contract which I disagree with… not to mention a very poor choice of words.
