Sarah Palin is too folksy and goofy for my taste, and she has no gravitas. The ideal President has an inspirational “larger than life” quality.
Now that you say that, Nick, Sarah Palin is a bit like a goofy character from Fargo or Prairie Home Companion.
“Timid men prefer the calm of despotism to the tempestuous sea of liberty.” - Thomas Jefferson
Let me see, a woman who has worked her way up from Mayor to Gov the largest state in our Union, this state also contains tremendous reserves of gas and oil. She took on the established brokers of her own party and beat them. But she is not as slick or polished as the Bama and David Brooks doesn’t like her?? Oh horrors of horrors.. whatever shall we do???
I personally thought the hero of the left Jimmy Carter portrayed his ignorance and hick background each time he opened his Georgia peanut farmer mouth. However the David Brooks of the world were always quick to point out he graduated from Annapolis and was a Naval Officer.
I have come to the conclusion that it is either fear or jealousy of Gov Palin that propels the most vitriolic of the verbiage spewed against her. Women who will never in their dreams accomplish what she has and look as good doing it and men who are so intimidated by a woman doing what she has. Add the liberal attitude of elitism that is permeating all but Fox News and the Wall street journal in journalism today as well as Washington and it is a testament to the truth of her message and how true it rings with those of us not clouded by the political correct thought police and who actually work for a living and have to pay for the “Change”.
It is easy to shout “Change, Change, Change”. How many really understand that the change being wrought is the destruction of all that has made this country one of the greatest in the world?
Is Sarah Palin Mitt Romney? No but then she is not a thug politician from Chicago who got his start in the home of a convicted domestic terrorist and sat in the pew of a bigot hate monger for 20 yrs.
