Third Party
My Prediction for the Election
As election day is now upon us, I will weigh in with my prediction as to who will win the presidential election, why that will be so and how it came about. Predicting the outcome of an election, particularly one that is so emotionally charged, is risky. In any case, here is what I predict:
Obama is Anti-2nd Amendment
As a gun-owner and someone who has escaped injury due to private gun ownership at least three times, I pay attention to the voting records of candidates regarding the 2nd Amendment.
I recently wrote about the NRA’s disappointing endorsement of Senator John McCain, in spite of his clear record of being an enemy of the right’s of gun-owners. A much more logical choice would have been 3rd party candidates Bob Barr or Chuck Baldwin, as an endorsement of Barack Obama would have been equally unthinkable.
Obama has claimed to be a supporter of the 2nd Amendment, but his voting record indicates otherwise.
Illinois State Rifle Association Executive Director, Richard Pearson, has this to say about Senator Obama-
Gingrich: Bush Started What Obama is Continuing
I swing back and forth between being happy and chagrined to see Republicans acting like Republicans again, but when I see a quote like this from Newt Gingrich, my first thought is “Say what?”
Gingrich thrashed Republicans for allowing increased spending during the Bush administration and for not doing enough to block President Barack Obama’s early initiatives.
“Remember, everything Obama’s doing, Bush started last year,” Gingrich said. “If you’re going to talk about big spending, the mistakes of the Bush administration last year are fully as bad as the mistakes of Obama’s first two, three months.”
Newt, we’re thrilled to have you on the right side, but you supported the TARP bailout.
Paul Press Conference: Reject the Two-Party System
Hillary’s (Not-So) Hidden Agenda
Her speech is being hailed as brilliant, moving, and inspiring; but, the question is “Was it convincing?”
Hillary’s supporters are giving mixed reviews. Some have made their intention of supporting Senator Obama clear, while others area adopting a “wait and see” approach, curious as to how Obama and Biden react to the tough questions facing them in the coming debates.
Unfortunately for Obama, the most vocal of Clinton’s supporters are the ones who have no intention of ever supporting the Democrat Party’s nominee, instead opting to vote for McCain or a third-party candidate. So while it would appear that Hillary failed in her effort to deliver all of her 18 million voters to Obama, one has to wonder if that was truly her goal.
Ron Paul: Third Party Win is What’s Best for the Country
Though Dr. Paul has not endorsed a candidate for the November Presidential election, he has made it abundantly clear that he cannot support Senators McCain or Obama. So what advice does he offer to his supporters?
[Paul] says his supporters “should do whatever they want.” But at a party the night before a recent rally in Washington, he told one Paulite, “The contest is to get as many votes as we can to not support the two major candidates.”
