WASHINGTON – Al-Qaida supporters suggested in a Web site message this week they would welcome a pre-election terror attack on the U.S. as a way to usher in a McCain presidency.

Bush’s Version of Socialism
Unfortunately this could not be anymore true. The very definition of socialism is collective ownership of the means of productions. While the Republicans scream about Obama being “socialist” they approved of Bush taking ownership of a wide range of financial institutions. When the government and big banks join forces there can only be tyranny. H/T to Allvoices for graphic.

Al-Qaida Website Supports McCain
In holding with the strategy Osama bin Laden has pushed for over a decade in his war against the United States an Al-Qaida linked website is reportedly choosing John McCain over Barack Obama for President because he will “continue the failed policies of Bush”.
Ron Paul Calls for Support of His Friend Tom McClintock
Dear Friend:
You know that I don’t mince words and I don’t back down in fighting a federal government that has far exceeded the confines of our Constitution. I could use some help in the House, and that’s why I’m asking you to support my friend Tom McClintock.
You may remember when he stood up to the liberal Republican establishment in California and took on Arnold Schwarzenegger during the recall election in 2003. This guy will stand and fight, and we need him in the Congress. Tom has said that he expects our federal government to protect our borders and to preserve our individual freedoms as Americans. And beyond that, he wants it out of our pockets, away from our families and out of our faces. That’s my kind of candidate.
He’s facing the Daily Kos and DCCC fundraising machine, and he’ll need our financial help on his side.
Military Member Speaks Out
During the Rally For The Republic I was approached at least a half dozen times and asked for an interview (because I sang the anthem). My standard answer was-
“I’m sorry but regulations prohibit me from talking to you.”
House of Lords Stands Up For Liberty
MSNBC is reporting that the United Kingdom’s House of Lords rejected, in what opposition leaders called a “crushing defeat”, a government plan to increase the amount of time that the state can hold suspects without charges from 28 to 42 days. The pre-9/11 maximum length to which the government could hold suspects without charge was 2 days. This most recent proposal going down in a 3-to-1 defeat hopefully will send a warning message to Gordon Brown and others that they will not be allowed to reign unchecked.
Final Showdown: Live-blog of Presidential Debate #3
The staff at United Liberty once again invites our readers to join us as we live-blog the 3rd and final debate between Presidential contenders, Senators Barack Obama and John McCain. We’ll kick-off at 7:30pm Central and hope to provide thought-provoking and informative commentary as each candidate answers the questions offered by CBS’s Face the Nation veteran, Bob Scheiffer.
Breaking Through the Rhetoric on Government Spending
For years, McCain has blasted the “earmarks” on Capitol Hill- and rightfully so- but most voters are beginning to see how small of a portion such spending constitutes the federal budget. He talks about reducing government spending, albeit not as fervently as previous Republican candidates, but the facts show his rhetoric does not match reality.
Lawson for Congress: Thank You!
The people have spoken, and in this case a picture is worth a thousand words:

Since Dr. Paul’s email went out, we have raised $230,000, with $180,000 in the past 24 hours. We’ve been informed that is the largest single-day fundraising total for a North Carolina congressional candidate ever. (Perhaps nationally? How quickly did Dr. Paul raise his Congressional money?)
Markets Vote No Confidence In Bailouts
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down over 1,300 points since “The” Bailout passed the House on Friday. This bill was suppose to save the markets at the expense of the people, but what if the markets and the taxpayers both dont like it? Too bad we are not in a parliamentary system where a vote of no-confidence like this means the current regime will likely be gone in the near future.
