The Obama Administration’s Phantom Jobs

As you’ve heard by now, the Obama Administration is claiming that the stimulus bill, funded entirely on the backs of future taxpayers, has created 650,000 jobs. This is obviously a tough sell because we are still losing jobs (unemployment is 9.8%).

In an interview with CBS, Craig Jennings of OMB Watch said the numbers are useless and CBS reporter Chip Reid seemed to agree, telling Katie Couric:

Well, Katie, that report is going to claim that the stimulus has already created or saved hundreds of thousands of jobs, but if the administration`s first effort at counting stimulus jobs is any guide, tomorrow`s numbers could be hard to believe.

Here is video of the CBS report:

The administration is still trying to sell a mistake. These numbers, to be perfectly honest with you, are bullshit. There is no way they can tell what has or hasn’t been created and we already know that previous reports on these phantom jobs were overstated.
