Photos of the Day: Tenth Amendment meets a stimulus project

This morning on my ride into work, I noticed something on the sign for a project in Stockbridge (Henry County, Georgia). It looks like someone had a little fun with the  project sign for a local project funded by federal “stimulus” dollars, which was entirely funded on the backs of future taxpayers.

You can click on the pics to get a better view.

creating work for the sake of work is fake production…as a taxpayer, I guess “you’re welcome” is in order

lol…where exactly is the project in that picture? looks like an empty rural road to me…

we got one of these projects on my route to work. The road was less than 7 years old. It was a simple repaving job, but nobody I know understands why it was necessary. The stretch of road they resurfaced was totally fine and there are other areas of road in the area that are totally potholed and in need to repair. The signs and the make work projects are a clear reminder of why I dislike the Federal government.

I’d like to know how many orange cones have been purchased with stimulus money.

I’ve seen roads with miles upon miles of cones, but no work in sight.

harlan, I’ve been seeing a lot of that too.

Those signs are eerily similar to “Funded by the EU” signs all over Ireland’s roads. They are disgusting in principle, an eyesore in practice and I cannot believe we are following the EU’s lead.

Is it racist for me to not want to emulate Europe?

Anonymous's picture

No. It IS racist of you to disagree with Obama when HE wants to emulate Europe.

We have a stretch of road in our community also that has been being repaved for the last month. My mother and I were wondering why because we had noticed nothing wrong with the road. I told her that it must be stimulus money needing to be spent.

I hear you.

I am from Michigan and when I was driving through the country roads of my hometown a few weeks ago I saw this sign and put it on my blog:

Literally a road that was in good shape and out in the boonies. Just another ‘repaving’ on a road that didn’t need it. Funny this is, I couldn’t find it on the Recovery.gov website. This is a joke. They spent $18 million more of our tax dollars to re-do a website that’s still not accurate. Pff…

If you would like to check out my blog, I threw up these pictures on it:

I am curious about how many familys in need could be fed each week with the money paid for each of these signs.

Truer words were never spoken: “Government cannot fix your problems, government IS the problem.” - Ronald Reagan. Anything the government can do, the people can do better, and without filtering the money through government hands.

In all fairness the road in the article is in need of more lanes and is being extended to connect with another road (I drive it often). However the the project was started way before the stickmeus was even some idiots wet dream. I can only think Odummy is trying to capture some love in a very red region, hence the self pat on the back with the sign.

Please tell me why I, a citizen of Virginia, should be paying for road improvements in the State of Georgia.

You just hate the South.

I drive the road every day during the week. Yes, it needs to be widened and it would have been if the Henry County Board of Commissioners not put off the project for other endeavors previously. After all, local funding for this project was already in place.
