Over at Facebook, a group has been created called “I Bet I Can Find 1,000,000 People Sorry They Voted for Obama.” 20 days before Barack Obama has even been inaugurated as the 44th President of the United States, people are already disappointed. This is what happens when a presidential candidate runs a campaign in which he promises the moon and the stars. Alas, that may be what you have to do to win nowadays.

This is a group for those of us who voted for Barack Obama thinking that we would see a liberal government. Instead what we are getting is center to neo-conservative. Several people on the Obama “Team” have views repugant to liberal values.

Eric Holder, proposed attorney general, is pro-death penalty.

Tom Daschle, proposed Sec’y of Health and Human Services, is pro-life and has only a 50% rating from NARAL, a group that endorsed Obama.

Jim Jones is a Marine tapped for National Security Advisor. We wanted an anti-war administration.

Lawrence Summers, who was fired from Harvard for sexist comments, will be second at the Fed and his protege will be Sec’y of the Treasury.
And the list goes on.
Obama is surrounding himself with a military advisory team that is pro-war.

Many of the leadership slots are going to members of the so-called neo-liberal DLC, a conservative group within the Democratic Party. Neo-liberals, like neo-conservatives, are global capitalists. It appears from Obama’s “team” that a cold warrior mentality is continuing.

Obviously, the person who started this group had a warped vision of Barack Obama’s politics. He never called himself “anti-war” and only opposed the Iraq war, said that he supports a market economy plenty of times and would have a bi-partisan administration. You can’t please everybody.
