George W. Bush is the biggest spending president since Lyndon B. Johnson, according to Chris Edwards of the Cato Institute (at least until Barack Obama).

I’m pretty sure that chart is missing a huge bump right after Bush II.
“Philosophy, despite the best obfuscatory intentions of philosophers, occasionally seeps out of the ivory towers and informs our lives.”
Don’t forget that Obama did not vote against any of Bush’s spending for the biggest spending half of that administration.
How could I forget with you constantly reminding me?
The CATO institute is an asylum for Libertarians. They have clearly lumped any and all expenses (like fighting wars) into this simplistic number-crunching. However, Bush went Socialist on several issues: Pushing Amnesty for illegals who will not assimilate into our society, handing out trillions in Medicaid, creating a needless and unConstitutional department of homeland security, refused to let Americans know about the Community Reinvestment Act and the Liberal midget Marxists who destroyed our economy with it, etc, etc, etc…
