ACORN To Get ‘Stimulus’ Money?

The stimulus bill that Obama and the Democrats are trying to push through Congress includes lots of spending, which means bigger government and a bigger burden on the taxpayer. When it is all said and done this bill is estimated to cost over a trillion dollars. With that being said, opposition to this bill should be a no-brainer for any fiscal Conservative.

What may be the most insulting part of this bill is that the group ACORN, which is an advocacy group that is under investigation for voter fraud (and who routinely back Democratic Candidates in elections), may be eligible for billions of dollars of the ‘stimulus package.’

Senator David Vitter (R-LA) said

It’s just a long list of spending items. Not a real economic stimulus job creation bill. It’s line after line after line of favorite liberal spending programs, and it amounts to a big government bill — not a job creation bill.

What is astounding about this is that Obama wants the GOP to ‘keep politics to a minimum’ when it comes to discussion about the stimulus package. That, combined with the Democrats creating an environment of urgency and fear, puts Conservatives in Congress in a lose-lose situation.

Any Conservative who speaks out against the bill will be seen as someone who does not want to help those who have lost their jobs. They will also be seen as someone who is not willing to work for partisan solutions, and they will be seen as someone who does not care about ‘solving’ the current economic crisis.

But in reality, we all know that government cannot spend itself out of a recession, or else we would never be in a recession (based on the billions upon billions government spends each year).

This doesn’t surprise me, but it still saddens me.

acorn is a voter registration orginization, they do not determine who votes. They also turned in all the suspicous forms themselves. Just because you register does not mean you can vote.

From what I have seen he is not out to create jobs, he is just blowing money…
~ and paying back favors. ~ I figured that out when he appointed a man that did not pay his own taxes for Treasury Secretary and he he actually gave him a heads up and a job instead of justice! ~ (if it was you or I we would be trying to raise our bail)

Thanks for the comments everyone. I found it amazing that not a single Republican voted in favor of the bill. You would think that some neocons would want increased spending. Regardless, it was good to see that all Republicans and some Democrats (one from my home state even) voted against the bill.

Acorn is not a company, or a business. If they get money from the stimulus package it will be another example of politicians giving perks to those who support them, which shows that they only are looking for votes, not what is good for the country. However, this should come as no surprise - - -

The time for revolution has begun… keep your powder dry. You may say that is extreme views only because Americans in general have become very soft since the sixties. No one here really has the stomach to collaborate in the millions to march right up INTO the white house or congress and take a dump on their (both sides) twisted Self-fulfilling agendas. These Mother F’n dumbasses are picking away at our freedoms (what little we really have) and picking away at our pockets (what little we have). I believe the views of the founding fathers was that of small government and not what it has become. Our grandchildren, that is two or more generations from ours, will feel the ripples of these counterproductive moves which is not fair at all. As for us, forget it, when you are older if you don’t finacially survive this storm… you will be eating government cheese sandwiches and bottom shelf garbage. IT WAS NOT EVEN A WEEK into this BS and he distributes lack of judgement. He promised HOPE… Oh we have hope… we hope we survive… but as for me I hope he chokes on his own words or his breakfast… honestly, I prefer the latter.
