Would any libertarian still support Obama?
That’s the question that entered my head this morning. Conservatives often accuse libertarians of “supporting” Obama by being critical of Republicans and conservatives. Obviously, this is nonsense, as no one is obligated to withhold criticism simply because of a person’s party. Libertarians are by no means required to even support Republicans, much less ignore their glaring deficiencies and attempts to abridge liberty.
What I’m asking is, is there any situation that could arise to cause a libertarian to actually vote for Obama in 2012? The current crop of GOP hopefuls, with the possible exception of Gary Johnson and perhaps a couple others, looks less than thrilling for libertarians (or really anyone). It is entirely possible that we will end up with a Huckabee, Romney, or other nominee that one could find impossible, or at least difficult, to support. Is anyone’s vote then going to Obama?
Personally, I’d argue that any libertarian who would consider this is, well, nuts. I realize there are some who supported Obama in 2008, most likely because of his supposed anti-war stance. But as the his actions have shown, especially his amplification of the Afghanistan war and his actions in Libya, Obama is most certainly not anti-war. Further, his behavior on the domestic front has been, in a word, horrendous. From ObamaCare to spending levels that would make George Bush blush, he has been anathema to libertarians in nearly every way.
So my question is, are any libertarians even considering voting for him in 2012? If so, what conditions would need to exist? And more importantly, why? I’m honestly curious to see if he retains any support in this segment. I highly doubt if it is significant after the above-mentioned. I just want to know if it still exists at all.

It could be that a GOP candidate is worse than Obama. You could imagine if McCain were president we’d already have ground troops in Libya (he was calling for it originally). Huckabee is far too religious and that usually means less individual liberties or “preservation” of the Christian heritage of the nation, plus he’d possibly turn the current war into a holy war.
Romney might be less religious but more of a corporate sell-out.
Obama is party loyal and isn’t his own person (maybe that would change for a second term, but I doubt it).
The whole thing is a farce, I’m voting for Ron Paul or another third party.
Failure to distinguish between left and right libertarians leaves the question unanswerable. Or at best leaves you with the answer— some will some won’t.
OBAMA FULFILLING THE BIBLE
Can you guess which Bible verses Barack Hussein Obama likes to avoid?
Proverbs 19:10 (NIV): “It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury - how much worse for a slave to rule over princes!”
Also Proverbs 30:22 (NIV) which says that the earth cannot bear up under “a servant who becomes king.”
And Ecclesiastes 5:2-3 (KJV) advises: “let thy words be few…a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.”
Although Obama is not descended from slaves, he may feel that he’s destined to become a black-slavery avenger.
Or maybe an enslaver of all free citizens!
For some stunning info on Pres. Obama and his fellow subversives, Google “Michelle Obama’s Allah-day,” “Obama Supports Public Depravity,” “David Letterman’s Hate Etc.,” “Un-Americans Fight Franklin Graham” and also “Sandra Bernhard, Larry David, Kathy Griffin, Bill Maher, Joan Rivers, Sarah Silverman.” Also Google “Prof. F. N. Lee’s ISLAM IN THE BIBLE [PDF].”
PS - Since Christians are commanded to ask God to send severe judgment on persons who commit and support the worst forms of evil (see I Cor. 5 and note “taken away”), Christians everywhere should constantly pray that the Lord will soon “take away” or at least overthrow all US leaders who continue to sear their conscience and arrogantly trample the God-given rights of the majority including the rights of the unborn. Do we need a second American Revolution?
PPS - For a rare look at the 181-year-old endtime belief which has long neutralized millions of American patriots by promising them an “imminent rapture” off earth - which has diverted them away from being prepared to stand against all enemies, domestic as well as foreign - Google “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty,” “Pretrib Rapture Diehards,” “Edward Irving is Unnerving,” “Pretrib Rapture Secrecy,” and “Pretrib Rapture - Hidden Facts” - all by the author of the bestselling nonfiction book “The Rapture Plot” (the most accurate documentation on the pretrib rapture’s long hidden birth in Britain in 1830 - see Armageddon Books). Also Google “Stamping Out Harold Camping.”
one wonders how you could possibly write such an article without mentioning RON PAUL 2012.

It’s extremely doubtful. What with FBI raids by Eric Holder and Individual Mandates and a failure to bring Gitmo down. Oh and didn’t he also say something about making gov’t streamlined and more efficient and basically smaller in his state of the union?. What ever became of that? But here’s a scenario where I do vote Obama the choices on my ballot are
Any Republican that’s not Karger, Johnson or Paul
Obama (D)
Barr/Root or anyone else who is Corrupting the LP (L)
Stewart Alexander (G)
Any theocratic asshole in the Constitution Party.
In the long run I’ll probably write someone in.
re: Alex
On individual mandate — the question is about market failure so its not clear cut Government vs. Personal Liberty because of the issue of free-riding which is simply an abuse of personal liberty at the expense of others.
Libertarians that put free-riding on taxpayer dollars as the greater evil than the imposition of a fee to help defray costs of health care market will not necessarily have a problem with the individual mandate.
