Quantitative Easing Explained
With the Federal Reverse planning to print more money to purchase treasurys in an attempt to stablize the economy, also known as quantitative easing (or QE2, since this is the second round). The plan is ostensibly asking for higher inflation (which may already be here) and has drawn criticism from other countries.
Since many Americans don’t understand what is at stake when the Federal Reserve takes this sort of action, someone (a genius) put together this excellent video to break it all down:
