Harry Reid finds hostility at home

Last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told Greta Van Susteren that he had been thanked by stangers for ObamaCare, proving that people like the bill. He is finding out the hard way during hs bid for re-election that he thought wrong:

When Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s campaign tour stopped at a Minden coffee shop last week, he met rancher Nancy Park, who leaned toward him and said: “I respectfully disagree with what you’re doing for Nevada.”

Ursula McManus, who stood next to Park, shook Reid’s hand silently, her lips frozen in a grimace.

At a Fernley pizza parlor, Robert Diffenderfer, 73, a veteran and biker, simply refused to shake the senator’s extended hand.

Elsewhere along the route, small bands of protesters held mocking signs. One dubbed the campaign trip the “throw Nevada under the bus tour.”

[E]ven among Nevada Democrats, about a quarter are either undecided or supporting the Republican candidate. For liberals who know the old Western-moderate Reid, he’s not one of them even though his rise in the party has more closely associated him with the party’s liberal wing. Some moderate Democrats say he’s moved too far left.

For moderate and right-leaning independents, he has joined in on Washington bailouts and big progressive reforms when they prefer a smaller, more cautious government.

The election is still a long way off, but Reid trails three of his potential Republican opponents. He’s already burned through $4 million for this cycle to refamiliarize himself with Nevada voters and still has over $8 million on hand.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint and Reid, despite all of the negatives, could still pull this off.

Reid has his head still in the sand if he thinks Nevada loves him. His disconnect with his state is like his disconnect with his job as leader of the Senate. Just because he thinks it, doesn’t mean it is true. Nevada needs to dump Reid and move out of the smoke and mirrows into the sunlight. Remember in November and vote Reid; Pelosi and in 2012 Obmam out of office. Take back our country from the socialist

Just because you think it doesn’t make it true either. And where did you get that socialism stuff from, Joe Plumber? Didn’t you know the Republican had a stimulus planned? 500+ billion. More like corporate give-away, but still. You didn’t think they were going to let the economy go till we couldn’t pay our bills and default, did ya? Obama was handed this country down over 700 billion in tax revenue. Which is also why he’s racking up debt faster. But I know the Repubs would’ve closed the car Co’s - 2 million out of a job and a nice new shiny auto plant in China is right up their alley. You know what socialism is, funding Bush & Co’s 40 companies in the Middle East. It’s funny how our tax-dollars spent on us & our country = socialism. But when the elite use them to fund themselves into personal deals, it’s capitalism. Go Figure!

It’s a marathon that Sen. Reid and his minions will not win. He lost touch with the people of Nevada who elected him and expected his representation. Instead Reid is representing Obama agenda and the liberal interest groups in Washington DC — you know, those same guys who gave him $$$$$12 million in campaign contributions.
Reid could do us all a favor and quit now. We don’t want him.

I personally know both Nancy (Mrs. Park) and Ursula (Mrs. McManus) and their expressed sentiments towards Mr. Reid, in my opinion, reflect the frustration of many Nevada voters. Nevada has received a lot of lip service from Mr. Reid and his staff, but his true motivations lie in perpetuating the political morass that is now synonymous with Washington D.C. He is no longer in touch with either his constituents in Nevada or the vast majority of people in this great country.

Nevadans are mostly believe Obama is a socialist and that the Sarah Palin is ultra-intelligent. It’s hard to be a politician nowadays — you do something good for the people, like healthcare, and they want to spit on you.

Every time conservatives cry “Socialism” or “Communism” liberals need to scream “Racist” from the top of their lungs. Ready to cry fowl and roll your eyes yet?

Good. Maybe next time you’ll realize that calling your countrymen “socialists” and “communists” is just as absurd as them calling you a “racist”
