Already, liberal critics are calling Gov. Sarah Palin the Teflon Candidate in her quest as running mate with Senator McCain, claiming that no criticism of Palin seems to stick. No question, the Palin candidacy has energized the GOP ticket. A few weeks ago, daily polls reported at Real Clear Politics and at Electoral-Vote.com reported a clear advantage for Senator Obama. However, the very latest polls actually give the McCain-Palin ticket the lead, albeit a small one. The news media has continued to bash Gov. Palin, seeking to unearth some issues from her administration in Alaska, and even raising issues concerning her daughter’s pregnancy. In spite of these criticisms, Gov. Palin remains immensely popular. Please consider several reasons for her popularity:

1) Sarah Palin expresses a defined philosophy of limited government, free enterprise, and a strong military. The ring of truth in her speaking is encouraging to the average American.

2) Sarah Palin has a strong aura, a powerful Christian testimony, and a wholesome appearance. Outside the doctored photos circulating the internet, every appearance of Gov. Palin is clean, modest, and a picture of the girl next door.

3) Gov. Palin speaks with sincerity. Americans listen and know that Sarah Palin is not speaking with deceit.

4) Gov. Palin’s approach is not that of an Ivy League elitist, but that of a common citizen with working class roots. Even when the story broke about her daughter’s pregnancy, most Americans felt her pain. Every family identifies with broken hearts and disappointments. Frankly, this situation underscored her pro-life convictions.

Governor Palin is just what the doctor ordered for the GOP in the 2008 elections. Senator McCain rivals Bob Dole as the dullest, most unexciting candidate in a generation. As a side note, Joe Biden is definitely the dullest choice on a Democratic ticket since— heck, I don’t know when!

President Ronald Reagan was derided on the exact same issues that the media is now using on Governor Palin. In fact, Reagan was considered the original Teflon Candidate President Reagan bypassed the media and spoke clearly to the American people. Like Reagan, Palin speaks with a smile and a confidence that inspires the American people. I look forward to four years of a Vice President Sarah Palin and then eight years of a President Sarah Palin. Palin’s leadership will restore faith in the American dream and re-ignite an emphasis on the free market and patriotism

Great article. I’m pretty sure that at this point prior to the last two presidential elections, the Democrat was ahead in the polls. This time, the GOP candidate is already pushing ahead. I’ve been pretty pessimistic until the last couple weeks, but it won’t be surprising at all to McCain take the White House.

The reason nothing sticks to Palin is because there isn’t anything sticky to throw at her. I really hope the liberals keep launching these silly attacks, its part of what’s pushing the undecided voters towards voting for McCain.
