I’m beginning to wonder what Obama has against the American flag.  Stories of his refusal to wear a flag lapel pin have abounded on the internet, but I’m not sure if I’ll hold someone’s choice of fashion accessories against them.  I don’t go around wearing one, so judging a person’s patriotism based on this criteria appears to be a slippery slope.

But Obama’s dismissal of this American symbol goes farther than his on-again, off-again jewelry.  The Seattle Times has reported that the flags used by attendees of Obama’s acceptance speech were found in several trash bags located around dumpsters at Invesco Field.  They were rescued by veterans and given to the McCain campaign.

“We want to find good homes for these flags,” one of the veterans said as they carried in plastic garbage bags full of neatly rolled flags and distributed them.

Of course, Obama and crew are denying that the flags were being disposed of, but the obvious question is, “Why were the bags by and in dumpsters?”

It turns out the American flag has also played a disappearing act on Obama’s campaign jet.  According to World Net Daily, when the plane was originally purchased, it had an American flag painted on the tail.  It was removed and replaced by Obama’s now well-recognized “O” symbol.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I think that typically the whole tactic of “I’m more patriotic than you, blah, blah, blah” is a real turn off.  But the actions of Obama really make you question what he truly believes about American traditions and values.
