Barr Not on Ballot in West Virginia

At the Barr Campaign blog, Jason Pye is reporting that a judge has ruled against Barr and that he and running mate, Wayne Allyn Root, will not appear on the West Virginia ballot in November.

We felt there was a case to be made since the deadline to turn in petitions is nearly a full month before Republicans and Democrats are required to file. The judge didn’t see things our way.

This is a blow to the Barr campaign, with ballot access still pending in Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Maine. We can only hope that they fare better in the remaining states. Those citizens should have the same opportunity to vote for the Libertarian Party candidate that the voters in the other 45 states have.

Texas looks like the place we really need to take a stand at, to show how truly biased the system is.

Richard Wingers over at Ballot Access News has seriously doubted that the lawsuit in Pennsylvania is a threat. We also have court precedent on our side in Massachusetts.

Oklahoma and Maine are up in the air.
