Ron Paul: Third Party Win is What’s Best for the Country
Though Dr. Paul has not endorsed a candidate for the November Presidential election, he has made it abundantly clear that he cannot support Senators McCain or Obama. So what advice does he offer to his supporters?
[Paul] says his supporters “should do whatever they want.” But at a party the night before a recent rally in Washington, he told one Paulite, “The contest is to get as many votes as we can to not support the two major candidates.”

An endorsement from Congressman Paul could have a significant impact this election, and it appears to many that former Republican -Congressman-turned-Libertarian, Bob Barr, is the obvious choice for that endorsement. He is the only third-party candidate running on a similar platform to Ron’s, who is also polling well and will have ballot access in almost every state.

Even though Bob Barr is far from perfect, I’d like to see Dr. Paul endorse him. If Barr could get 5% of the popular vote, it would set the stage for a stronger Libertarian candidate in 2012. And as Ron Paul has said many times, this revolution will not happen in one year.
I mostly agree. Bob Barr is struggling. With Ron Paul’s endorsement he could pull in a decent percentage, which would put the Libertarian party on the map.
Bob Barr is missing the boat. His Veep, Wayne Allyn Root is a great messenger and should be in the media more. Root can help Bob, he has a lot to say and should be in the public eye.
Have you guys heard of Liberty magazine? If not, check out www.libertyunbound.com.
Anyways, there was an article in Liberty that documented Paul’s personal friendship with paleoconservative Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party. I imagine Paul has personal reasons for not wanting to endorse one over the other.
Michael, that’s a good point. I have heard from Root once. Glenn Beck should get him on his show.
