John the Maverick?

admin's picture

Today the Barr Campaign released a video of Bob talking about John McCain’s ‘Maverick’ credentials. I would agree with his assessment: if John McCain is a political maverick, who isn’t? Considering how many establishment candidates have been talking about ‘Changing Washington’ since the primaries, I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised.

I find these YouTube videos refreshing. There’s less glamour and Barr seems like a real person talking about what’s important. Clinton talked about wanting to start a “conversation,” but that conversation was one-sided and never about the really important issues.

If either Obama or McCain wins nothing will change. For real change we need to shake the two party system up by putting Bob Barr in office.

It’s time to bring the power back to the people and honor our Constitution. Freedom is not without a price but tyranny is free. Let’s make our choice the right one and start the ringing of freedom again in our great country. Bob Barr can be the leader to get the ball rolling. Bob Barr for president in ‘08.

Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection
that your vote is never lost.

McCain and Obama will just fall apart in a debate with Bob. Bob eaisly delivers our message because it’s comes from principle and not in an effort to trick or confuse the American public. He knows the issues and has the right answer and it’s always the same. VOTE FOR LIBERTY! VOTE FOR RIGHTS! SUPPORT THE CONSTITUTION!

This video is ok.

What you really need to put out is a video of how you can improve American employment, protect the middle class from the assaults of big corporations, and how we can improve our culture.

Now exact plans not a generalation of these could propell you to victory and solve allot of the mess that is going on.

I can’t believe that after the last eight years, Obama and McCain aren’t emphasizing restoring our liberties and reigning in government. Then again, neither of their parties has any credibility on those subjects. Thank goodness for Bob Barr. Go Bob!

Bob Barr deserves to be in the debates. He would mince McBama into shreads!

Just recently, the city of New Orleans invited both the Republican and the Democratic candidates for a “town hall meeting” debate. John McCain accepted, although he might decline later, and Barack Obama declined altogether. What I find interesting is Libertarian candidate Bob Barr not only was not invited, he wasn’t even considered. Why do the Republican and the Democratic candidates both fear Bob Barr so much. Is it because that he actually has some solutions for this great nation that we live in? I’ll let you be the judge.

I see the words below Liberty United; Smaller government. The GOP which also proffers this has drastically increased the size of government. Government is not the problem, lousy and corrupt government is the problem. Free Markets; we have free markets, but without some regulation we get the mortgage crisis and Enron, Tyco, Worldcom, etc. Individual rights; without community which requires collective rights and responsibilities we walk into chaos and rebellion.

McCain is just another guy who will do or say anything to become President.

Having said that, Bob Barr is a total jerk. Period.

Bob Barr may be a jerk, but he’s our jerk, calling out the McCain/Obama twins, because the press isn’t beating down my door asking for my opinion.

Sure, there is always someone I’d rather vote for, but I’m not running for president this year. I need to wait til 2016. Bob’s my jerk choice in the meantime.

I never bought the line that either Obama or McCain was truly in favor of change since they’re both Washington insiders. The problem is that I’m having a hard time convincing myself that Bob Barr has really changed. His campaign against slick Willy’s (Clinton’s) sexual exploits was hardly libertarian and considering the vehemence with which he attacked Clinton, a complete change of heart seems a little unlikely.

Nonetheless, I fully support inviting Barr to all the debates. I just wish Ron Paul would switch to the Libertarian party. He’s someone who has a pretty unblemished libertarian record regardless of what party he’s in.

Barr could learn something from Ron Paul, though. While I’m always in favor of lowering taxes, McCain was right to oppose tax cuts while in the middle of a costly war. You have to show some fiscal responsibility and borrowing against my kids’ future (especially from the likes of China and Russia) is irresponsible and also hardly libertarian since it makes us beholden to the Chinese and Russians.

I think if I have to hear John McCain end another sentence with “My Friends”, I will have to kill myself!

You are no ones friend, my friend!

Bush has demonstrated “reigning in government.” You must mean “reining,” which means to “hold back or limit,” not “reign,” which means to rule. As a GOP Congressman Barr participated in some of the worst excesses of the late 1990s, including impeaching Bill Clinton for the sort of personal sexual indiscretion that Barr himself was also engaging in. He’s a gross hypocrite like anyone else involved with the GOP. You have three choices to end the GOP nonsense, which has destroyed this country: vote for Obama; vote for Nader; or vote for McKinney. Barr and McCain will be MORE OF THE SAME!

Yeah! The best thing about a Barr presidency would be his total freedom to politically persecute anyone he disagrees with.

There’d be no need to drag the whole House of Representatives along with him. He could just wake up some morning and decide he doesn’t like someone, make up some bogus charge and proceed to smear him/her for months.

I can’t wait to start paying my mandatory taxes to the Bob Barr Morality Crusade Fund. Certainly there can be no more important issue facing America than the proper use of a cigar.

Bob Barr is a politician first and foremost which means he is an opportunist.

He is trying to rebrand himself because he was paying attention and saw the republican brand circling the drain.

This guy pilloried Bill for being an adulterer which is the same thing he himself had done.

I realize Obama is a relatively unknown factor, but Barr is just another loser too embarrassed to call himself a Republican who is simply “hiding out” as a Neo-Libertarian.

Can’t trust this guy, he is part of the “same old” problem with Washingtoon.

WHEN will someone talk about John McCain’s great values (ie first marriage). He was married to na beautiful woman until she had the awful car accident…..then what did John do? Found another beautiful AND rich one. Bill and John (Edwards) certainly were cads, but so is John McCain!!

Ron Paul has solutions and no sordid past. He has been consistent with his domestic and foreign policy views. He even understands economics and does not spin.

I have voted in every election since 1956, the only time I voted Republican, and I’ve never been more discouraged. I don’t think anyone can clean up the mess! My husband and I (73 & 79)are glad we’re on the downhill side of life. Not much to look forward with the present state of our government. Not much hope of positive change either.
